About Us
Risk Underwriting
The key focus of the Company's activities currently is
group life assurance and group critical illness insurance
contracts in the UK . In the recent past, RAM has
managed portfolios incorporating group spouses
death-in-service and group income protection insurance
contracts.
Risks underwritten range from schemes comprising 3 lives through to large arrangements of over 12,500 lives, however there is no maximum.
The Company has developed a particular niche in the Police and Fire Brigade markets where a substantial number of the Police Forces in the UK have group risk schemes in place with insurers via RAM, generated in conjunction with specialist brokers.
RAM’s Senior Underwriter, Peter Brunwin, has particular
Group Risk knowledge and is recognised in the market as a well
respected underwriter. Rob Stemp and Liz Verity have particular
experience of the Police and Fire Brigade markets and are well
known within the market as specialists within these sectors.
Historically, RAM’s senior underwriters have been underwriting
for over 25 years during which time both UK and international
portfolios have been developed. Internationally,
multi-national pool business has been transacted in the UK and
risks have also been underwritten from the UK for
international companies based abroad in France, Gibraltar,
Malta and Hong Kong .
The management team have also dealt directly with
reinsurers in establishing treaties and underwriting terms for
insurers.
