Introducing a specialist virtual insurer

Risk Assurance Management Limited (RAM) was established in 2001 with the aim of delivering outstanding underwriting and administration services to insurers within the group risk market.

RAM brings together some of the most talented group risk underwriters and administrators in its market. With its experience and proven approach, RAM knows how to reliably deliver the perfect blend of quality service and value – a premium offering that is second to none.

Building on past success, RAM secured Lloyd's Coverholder status in April 2007 which cements the Company’s expertise with the unquestionable security of Lloyd's.

Lloyd's Coverholders are firms world wide who are authorised by Lloyd's syndicates to enter into contracts of insurance and/or issue insurance documentation on their behalf. This allows RAM to operate as a 'virtual insurer', backed by the support and security of Lloyd's.

Previous Experience

Senior members of RAM have worked together underwriting group risk benefits on behalf of several leading insurers since 1980. They have successfully managed and developed portfolios for:-

• Assicurazioni Generali Spa
• Terra Nova Insurance Company Limited (Re-named Markel)
• Cornhill Insurance Plc (Re-named Allianz)
• Cardif Pinnacle Insurance Plc
• Sterling Life Limited

Multi-national pooled business has been transacted in the UK and risks have also been underwritten for companies based in France, Gibraltar, Malta and Hong Kong.

Contracts Currently Underwritten by Ram and Arranged at Lloyd’s

RAM provides underwriting and administration for:

• Registered Group Life Assurance Schemes
• Excepted Group Life Assurance Schemes.
• Group Critical Illness Insurance Schemes

Cover can be provided for all schemes comprising a minimum of 3 lives.

FSA Status

RAM is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority for transacting non-investment insurance contracts and to hold client monies for insurances arranged at Lloyd’s. The company only transacts business received from intermediaries which are also regulated by the Financial Services Authority who act on behalf of the Policyholder.
